Tired Suspect Arrested While Napping

An 18-year-old burglar took a cat nap on the job, leading to his arrest.

The suspect was arrested after he fell asleep in the truck he broke into on Sunday at 2 a.m., said sheriff’s deputy Dave Reagan.

A deputy went to the 6700 block of N. Normandie after someone there saw the suspect break the windows out of his neighbor’s mini-van.

The deputy tracked him to a semi truck just a short distance away. The suspect broke into the truck and fell asleep, according to Reagan.

Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,300. Justin A. Dolan, who gave his address as 3308 W. Olympic Place, was arrested on two charges of second-degree malicious mischief.

Task Force makes bust

Spokane undercover officers and members of the Regional Drug Task Force stopped a marijuana growing operation in Deer Park on March 26.

Officers obtained a search warrant in the 1800 block of West Burrough Road. They arrested Clayton W. Edwards, 37, and Katherine M. Edwards, 35. Both were booked into jail on a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.
