Follow polar explorers

Exploring the North Pole will never be easy, but following the latest expedition will be convenient as well as educational.

Beginning today, the Spokesman-Review’s website will carry weekly coverage about a team of 11 adventurers, led by veteran arctic explorer Paul Schurke, attempting to reach the pole by ski and dog sled.

The feature is geared to students and teachers through the Newspaper in Education Department. A teacher’s guide packed with information about the North Pole, navigational tools, sled dogs and the history of polar exploration also is available.
