Cda Clinches Iel Baseball Title With Ease

Coeur d’Alene clinched the Inland Empire League baseball title Wednesday, with the end of the regular season still 10 days away.

Robert Green (2-1) struck out six during a five-inning one-hitter, and went 4 for 4 with two runs batted in during the Vikings’ 22-2 win over visiting Post Falls (7-12, 2-9).

CdA (14-4, 11-1) has a 4-game lead on Lewiston (6-5 IEL) with three league games left for the Vikings and four for Lewiston.

CdA’s Kyle Ahlf and Brad Ross combined for seven RBIs and a 5-for-7 effort.

IEL play ends May 8. The A-1 Region I tournament runs May 10-15.
