Auction house operator Raymond Merena holds what could be the most famous rare coin in the world at a bank vault in Wolfboro, N.H. The silver dollar, in near perfect condition, is one of eight coins made in 1934 but dated 1804. It was carried on a secret mission to the middle and far east and presented to the Sultan of Muscat (now Oman) as a gift for a trade treaty. The coin is expected to bring in bids around $2 million at an auction later this month in New York.
