Monkeying Around
A wild monkey that has been running rampant in a posh Tokyo neighborhood for two months met its match Saturday: an American pool attendant at an expatriate social club. Jill Morrison spotted the rogue primate poolside at the American Club and lured it into the pool office with a banana. Then she called the Ueno Zoo, where it is now caged. The macaque is one of the most common wild animals in Japan. They have long made themselves a nuisance, damaging crops, swiping food from grocery stalls and even biting humans.
