Unity Celebration Planned Saturday

The fifth annual Unity in the Community celebration will be held at Liberty Park on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Entertainment, arts and crafts, special events for children, information booths and food will be part of the event.

Unity in the Community is intended to build bridges among people of different races and cultural backgrounds.

“Our goal is simply to have people celebrate diversity in the community and get to know each other,” said the Rev. Lonnie Mitchell Sr. of the Bethel A.M.E. Church.

The event will be at the picnic shelter in the park. Sponsors include the church, AHANA, the Community Colleges of Spokane and several corporations.
