Clarence `Shorty’ Sauter Priest River, Idaho
Graveside inurnment for Clarence Howard “Shorty” Sauter, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Spirit Lake (Idaho) Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sauter, who was born in Milliken, Colo., died Wednesday.
He graduated from high school in Greeley, Colo. When he was young, he worked at a dude ranch in the Colorado Rockies.
Mr. Sauter served in the Navy during World War II. He was one of the first six sailors stationed at Farragut Naval Station.
In 1945 he married Phyllis Larine. He moved to Spirit Lake that same year.
Mr. Sauter worked as a maintenance supervisor at Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood for 20 years. He later worked as a construction supervisor for various contractors for 15 years.
He was a member of the Spirit Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars. He later moved to Priest River.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Jackson Sauter of Spirit Lake, Frankie Anderson and Rocke Sauter, both of Bellingham; two sisters, Betty Best of Colorado and Joan Watson of Nevada; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Aleksandras Saulinskas Sagle, Idaho
Memorial service for Aleksandras Saulinskas, 99, was Monday at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Mr. Saulinskas, who was born in Lithuania, died Friday.
He grew up and attended schools in Lithuania. He traveled to Germany after World War II and helped relocate displaced citizens and taught Russian language.
Mr. Saulinskas moved to America in 1950 and had worked in a piano factory manufacturing ivory keys. He settled in California in 1963.
In 1983 he moved to Sagle.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Saulinskas.
Joyce Dotts Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for Joyce Opal Dotts, 76. Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dotts, who died Friday, was born in Iowa.
She had worked as head cook at a hospital in Evanston, Wyo. She then lived in Kettle Falls, Wash., and worked in a school cafeteria before retiring in 1978 and moving to Coeur d’Alene.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene and volunteered with Kootenai Medical Center and the Catholic Daughters Fund.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gailord.
Survivors include a son, Duane Dotts of Post Falls; a sister, June Williams of Arizona; a brother, Mike Burnside of Florida; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Peter VanDerPas Sandpoint
Funeral Mass for Peter Benjamin VanDerPas, 92, was held at an earlier date. Burial was at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. VanDerPas, who was born in Boxtel, Holland, died Saturday.
He immigrated to Montana in 1908 and moved to Sandpoint in 1924. He worked at local lumber and sawmills.
In 1973 he married Mae Davis.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Edwin VanDerPas of Virginia; three daughters, Phyllis Bray of Colorado, Elsie Henderson of Spokane and Sharon Giese of Federal Way, Wash.; six stepchildren, Bonnie Boettger of Tacoma, Jim Russell of Maryland, Ross and John Russell, both of Sandpoint, Vivian Hooper of Boise, and Dave Russell of Sagle, Idaho; 22 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Amelia Jaussaud Hauser Lake, Idaho
Funeral Mass for Amelia G. Jaussaud, 92, will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rathdrum, Idaho. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls with a luncheon after the burial at St. Stanislaus Parish Hall. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jaussaud, who was born in San Diego, died Sunday.
She grew up in California. In 1926 she married Charles Jaussaud.
She was a farmer and owned a vegetable store before working at Consolidated Aircraft Co., during World War II, where she installed electrical wiring and landing lights in B17 and B24 aircraft. Mrs. Jaussaud also was a volunteer enemy-aircraft spotter and returned to work as a rancher and homemaker after the war.
She moved to a ranch in Hauser Lake in the 1970s and was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters and the Old Timers Club in San Diego.
Her husband died in 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Leonora Mobbs of Hauser Lake and Charlene Woodall of Coeur d’Alene; seven grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

Donna Bernard Post Falls
No service will be held for Donna M. Bernard, 71, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bernard, who was born in Iowa, died Thursday.
She had worked as office manager for a doctor in Coeur d’Alene for about 20 years before retiring in 1984.
Survivors include a son, Seldon Bernard II of Portland; two daughters, Susan Ziegler of Post Falls and Lee McKevitt of Springfield, Ore.; a brother, Samuel McKoon of Las Vegas; a sister, Iva Lee Potts of Coeur d’Alene; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Roy `Big B’ Bunderman Post Falls
Private service for Roy “Big B” Bunderman, 76, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bunderman, who was born in Murdo, S.D., died Friday.
He lived in South Dakota before settling in Post Falls in the early 1950s. He then worked for Kaiser Aluminum and retired in 1984.
Mr. Bunderman was a member of United Steelworkers Union 86 and the Lutheran Church in South Dakota.
Survivors include his wife, Clara; two daughters, Doris Sarensen of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Carol Hoffman of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Ed Bunderman of St. Maries; a sister, Agnes of South Dakota; and 15 grandchildren.

Mollie `Mike’ Phillips Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Mollie Wanda “Mike” Phillips, 69, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Phillips, who was born in Hayden Lake, Idaho, died Thursday.
She worked at several dude ranches in Washington and Oregon. She was a 40-year Coeur d’Alene resident. She had worked as a waitress at local restaurants.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Phillips of Coeur d’Alene; three brothers, Eugene Mullen of McCleary, Wash., Victor Mullen of Alaska, and James Mullen of Hayden, Idaho; four sisters, Peggy Gilbert, Goldie Morgan, and Shirley Hesdahl, all of Spokane, and Virginia Utetcht of Veradale; and four grandchildren.
