Hints From Heloise

Dear Heloise: When I take off my coat at work, I often find my clothes clinging to me due to static electricity. I usually forget to bring a can of anti static spray, but I usually have some hand lotion in my purse.

I have found that if I slip into the restroom and put lotion on my body under my blouse and on my legs, it defeats the static electricity. You can even rub it over pantyhose to stop trousers or skirts from clinging. Donna Barleen, Concordia, Kan.

Dear Heloise: For a child’s lunch when there is no refrigeration available, I freeze a juice box and pack it with any items that need to stay cool. By lunch time, the juice box has thawed and is ready to drink and the sandwich has remained cool. - Margaret P. Easterlin, Macon, Ga.
