Alpine skiing/snowboarding

The USSA Krist Anderson Memorial Snowboard Super G will be held today through the weekend at 49 Degrees North. Training today is 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with racing Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Info: (509) 935-6649, ext. 5.
Lookout Pass is offering $10 lift tickets Fridays for anyone 40 and older.
Nordic skiing
Race No.2 in the Star Light Series at Schweitzer is this weekend. This popular night race series includes nordic, alpine and snowboard teams. Info: (800) 831-8810.
The Sun Mountain/Methow Valley area reports excellent conditions this week with the entire Mazama community trail groomed Monday and the Rendezvous system groomed Tuesday night.
Snowmobiling
Old Mission State Park in Shoshone County warns snowmobilers of deep drifting and high winds. Trails have been groomed from the Mullan Fish Hatchery into Montana. The Bluff Creek trail, 60 miles round trip, was recently groomed.
Avalanche watch
The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center cautions travelers and skiers about avalanche danger in the backcountry. The avalanche warning is high for areas 4,000-5,000 feet in the Cascade Mountain areas through the weekend.
