The weekend will include presentations by a team of married couples and priests designed to facilitate communication. The program is sponsored by the Catholic Church but couples of all faiths are invited to attend.

Black History Month program

V. Ted Hutchinson will present “Songs and Stories to Reconcile By” at 2 p.m. Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive. The program, in recognition of Black History Month, will include songs and stories that are part of African American history, beginning with the slave ships from Africa and continuing to the civil rights era.

The one-hour performance will be followed by a social time with light refreshments. It’s free, but donations will be accepted. For more information, call 325-6383.

The event is sponsored by Senior Services of Washington, Region F, and the Young Women’s Organization of the LDS Spokane Stake. It’s free, but donations for the orchestra will be accepted. For more information, call 458-2509.
