Charter School Earns State Ok

The state Department of Education has approved Coeur d’Alene’s first charter school.

The Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, a college-preparatory school for seventh- through 10thgraders, is scheduled to open this fall in the former Duncan’s Gardens building, 711 Kathleen Ave.

School officials are hoping to enroll 50 students in each grade.
