Committee Won’T Push Ordinance

From Staff

The Moscow City Administrative Committee reversed course Monday and decided it will not recommend a new indecent exposure ordinance to the full City Council.

Last week, the committee considered a proposed new ordinance that would have made it illegal to show one’s genitals, cleft of the buttocks or a mature woman’s areola, unless she was breast feeding.

But after lively discussion Monday, the committee decided not to forward the draft proposal, but to instead recommend that the city’s current ordinance be rescinded, said City Attorney Randy Fife.

If the ordinance is rescinded, the city would be bound by the state indecent-exposure statute.
