Eric Lowe Receives Achievement Medal

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Eric M. Lowe, son of Dreaucine Bonner of Moscow, has received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.

Lowe, who joined the Navy in August of 1985, was recognized for outstanding achievement, superb initiative and helping the command fulfill its mission while serving as reactor leading petty officer aboard the USS Michigan at Silverdale, Wash.

Lakeland High School has chosen the January Students of the Month. Students are nominated and voted for based on a willingness to follow instructions, positive attitude, interest in studies, ability to accept and benefit from criticism, concern for others and activity involvement. Students are listed by grade level.

Bryan Phelps, a senior and son of Lee and Patty Phelps, plays baseball and may pursue a career in nursing.

Jessica Sullivan, a junior and daughter of Larry and Norma Sullivan, plays the flute and is involved in soccer and is considering a career in nursing.

Camile Kellogg, a sophomore and daughter of Donald and Cassandra Kellogg, is involved in skiing and plays the piano.

Air Force Airman Taralea B. Erickson, daughter of Eric Erickson of Hayden, Idaho, and Penni Iverson of California, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

Aaron P. Wisher, son of Scott and Debbie Wisher of Genesee, Idaho, recently received a master’s degree in geology from Central Washington University in Ellensburg.

Wisher, who also received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Puget Sound in 1996, completed a thesis on landslide activity in Clearwater County near Orofino, Idaho, and is currently an instructor at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
