Men’s basketball

San Diego at Gonzaga

Time, site: 7:30 p.m., Martin Centre.

TV/Radio: Fox Sports Northwest channel 24/KXLY 920 AM.

Summary: Does USD coach Brad Holland have Gonzaga’s number? In their last seven meetings, the Toreros (16-7, 7-4 WCC) have beaten the Bulldogs five times - the latest a 76-59 spanking last week, GU’s first WCC loss this season. That knocked the Zags (10-1, 20-5) out of the coaches’ Top 25, but may have slapped them awake, as well. A 23-point, 10-rebound effort by USD’s Ryan Williams was big in the first game, but so was a 27-8 edge in bench scoring and a whopping 34-18 advantage on the boards. Another sold-out crowd for GU’s homecoming is expected to arrive early - and probably expects the routine blowout. The closest a WCC team has come to GU in The Kennel this year is 18 points.

Washington State at Oregon State

Time, site: 5 p.m., Gill Coliseum

TV/radio: TV, Fox Sports Northwest; Radio, KXLY (AM 920)

Summary: The Cougars (9-14, 3-9 Pac-10) limp into Gill Coliseum trying to break their season-long Pac-10 road losing streak. In fact, Washington State has not had a Pac-10 road win since beating OSU last year. And getting its first road win against the Beavers this year may prove to be a tough task. The Beavers (11-10, 5-7), whose only home loss this season occurred Thursday against Washington, are holding opponents to 56.8 points per game at home and 34 percent shooting. They, in turn, are shooting 47 percent from the floor, including 39 percent from behind the arc.
