Britney Spears Back At No. 1

Americans can’t get enough of former Mouseketeer Britney Spears, who has jumped back to No. 1 at the nation’s record retailers, according to SoundScan.

During the week ending Feb. 7, sales of Spears’ debut release “… Baby One More Time” leaped to 182,000 copies the fourth consecutive week in which the teen performer’s numbers have increased.

Spears regains the Billboard 200’s top spot from rapper Foxy Brown, who drops to No. 4 on sales of 108,000 copies after topping the heap for one week with “Chyna Doll.” Spears was No. 1 two weeks ago and has pushed past the 500,000-copy mark in only four weeks.
