‘Dilbert’ Coming Back Next Season

Struggling UPN has renewed its new animated comedy “Dilbert” for next season.

The office-set series, built around the comic strip of the same name, debuted last month to encouraging ratings.

And while the show has lost some of its original audience, it continues to run about 83 percent ahead of what UPN did in the Monday 8 p.m. slot earlier this season.

“Dilbert” has turned out to be the brightest light on UPN’s schedule, which overall is down 37 percent for the season compared with the same period a year ago.
