Carrier Robbed At Knifepoint
A man armed with a knife robbed a 25-year-old newspaper carrier early Monday while the woman was delivering papers along Birch Avenue.
The man, described as in his late 20s or early 30s, was waiting at the woman’s car when she returned from delivering papers in the 800 block of Birch Avenue. He demanded her cash and credit cards, according to a police report of the 2:45 a.m. incident.
Krista Carlson told officers the man waved a knife toward her before she gave him money and credit cards. He ran north on Eighth Street.
Carlson, an Idaho Spokesman-Review carrier, drove her car to the newspaper’s distribution center and called police.
She described the robber as 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with a muscular upper body. He had a deep voice, dark shoulder-length hair and hair on his chin, and was wearing a dark-colored, lightweight jacket and boots.
