Coeur Donates Video Series

Coeur, The Precious Metals Co., recently sponsored and donated the Science Screen Report For Kids educational videotape series to Coeur d’Alene School District 271 and Post Falls School District 273.

The nine-video collection highlights vocabulary, critical thinking and career opportunity issues and comes with a teacher’s guide for each video.

The award-winning videotape series is produced in cooperation with the National Science Teachers Association and covers the latest developments in science, medicine and engineering, including mine reclamation and genetic engineering.

Mike Turay, director of operations for American Medical Response, recently donated three CPR practice mannequins to the Girl Scouts Inland Empire Council.

The council received two child-size and one infant “Resuscitation Annie” dolls and is now able to offer pediatric Medic First Aid classes with the appropriate size mannequins.

Doug Whitehead, materials manager for AMR, was instrumental in acquiring the dolls for donation to the council which serves over 4,000 Girl Scouts in the 18 North Idaho and Eastern Washington counties.
