Pirates Win In Home Finale

What once may have seemed like a lost cause continues with a flicker of hope for the Whitworth Pirates.

Whitworth closed out its home season with a 74-70 victory over Willamette in Northwest Conference men’s basketball Saturday at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

The win has the Pirates at 10-6 in the conference. That after starting 1-4. Linfield held first place at 12-5 going into Saturday’s games but its result was not yet available.

There were 13 lead changes, the last coming when Kelson Ramey scored to give Whitworth a 65-63 lead with 1:51 remaining.
