Harp Fest Sunday
Over 40 harpists from all over the Northwest will gather for the 1999 Harp Festival Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 330 E. Boone.
The annual event began in 1995, and participants include students as young as 8 years old to retired professional harpists in their 70s. The concert is a unique opportunity for harp musicians of different ages and skill levels to perform with other musicians and hone their skills.
The idea for the festival came from Leslie Stratton Norris, a Coeur d’Alene harpist who performs frequently in the area. The musicians usually spend the weekend prior to the public concert attending seminars and rehearsals.
The concert is free but donations will be accepted. All are invited to attend.
