Police Looking For Ear-Biter
Spokane police are trying to take a bite out of crime as they look for a suspect who took a bite from a man’s ear.
A man playing pool at a North Side tavern lost part of his ear when he got into a fight early Sunday morning.
The 19-year-old victim told police he and some friends were playing pool at Jimmie’s Tavern, 1403 E. Illinois.
He said a stranger made lewd gestures at him, and he spoke to the man before going to make a phone call, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.
He told police the man then attacked him, bit his ear and ran from the tavern. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery. He was released but may require additional surgery, Cottam said.
The attacker was a white male about 25, 5-foot-9, 200 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering “Badboy” on the front.
Police look for robbery suspect
A couple in their 20s were robbed by a teenager with two handguns at 10 p.m. Sunday night.
The two were walking west on Magnesium Road when they were approached by a male wearing a dark windbreaker and gray scarf, Cottam said.
He pulled the two weapons from his pockets and demanded the man’s wallet. He then ran southerly in an open field near Nevada.
The robber was described as white, between 15 and 18, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds.
Male charged with selling fake dope
Police arrested a man on Feb. 16 for attempting to sell counterfeit drugs.
Police received four calls from citizens about a man in a white Chevrolet Blazer trying to sell crack cocaine, all between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., Cottam said.
The calls came from several locations on and near North Division, and officers spotted a Blazer in the 200 block of East Wedgewood, he said.
Alan B. McReynolds, the 38-year-old driver, was driving with a suspended license. Officers found a plastic baggie of what appeared to be rocks of cocaine but which turned out to be wax, Cottam said.
McReynolds was booked into jail for delivery of a substance in lieu of a controlled substance, which is a felony. He gave his address as 7428 N. Lidgerwood.
