Dorothy (Middleton) Barker Spokane
Memorial service for Dorothy (Middleton) Barker, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 65-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Barker died Wednesday. She was born at the Bunko Ranger Station in Kootenai County.
Mrs. Barker worked as a bookkeeper at Long Lake Lumber for 13 years before working for KHQ-Radio for five years. She also worked at Roger Frucci and Associates for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, a volunteer for Meals of Wheels, a 10-year member of Corbin Community Center and a 17-year volunteer with Day Out for the Blind.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Howard; and a sister, Jean Henke.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Day Out for the Blind.
Leone (Anderson) Johnson Spokane
Funeral Mass for Leone E. (Anderson) Johnson, 75, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and the Finlandia Club.
Survivors include her husband, Kenny; a daughter, Diana Owens, and a son, Stanley Johnson, both of Spokane; two sisters, Edith Mohr and Grace Nutter, both of Spokane; two brothers, Andy Anderson of Mead and Dale Anderson of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Sumiko `Sue’ Ishikawa Spokane
No service will be held for Sumiko “Sue” Ishikawa. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Seattle, Mrs. Ishikawa died Wednesday. She was 70.
She moved to Spokane in 1944 and lived here until 1954, when she moved to California.
In 1956 she married Takao Ishikawa. He died in 1975.
Mrs. Ishikawa returned to Spokane in 1986.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a sister, Kazue Ogohara of Spokane; and two brothers, Yoshio Yoshizumi of Seattle and Suyeo Yoshizumi of LaCrosse, Wash.
Ruth Felch Spokane
No service will be held for Ruth Adellaide Felch at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Felch, 96, died Tuesday. She was born in Wibaux, Mont.
She was a 30-year Spokane resident and worked as a certified nurses aide.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Her husband, Loyal, died in 1971.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Felch of Spokane, Ernest Felch of Loon Lake, Wash., and Chester Felch of Seattle; two daughters, Dorothy Richan of Leadore, Idaho, and Bertie Gephart of Spokane; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Jon Coombs Springdale, Wash.
Memorial service for Jon Allan Coombs, 51, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Springdale Community Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Springdale resident, Mr. Coombs died Wednesday. He was born in Seattle.
He moved to Spokane in 1947 and graduated from University High School in 1965. He attended Eastern Washington University.
Mr. Coombs worked as a heavy equipment operator in the mining industry.
Survivors include two sons, Eric Coombs of Springdale and Brian Coombs of Baker City, Ore.; his parents, Earl and Kathryn Coombs of Spokane; a sister, Audrey Steele, and a brother, Earl Coombs, both of California; and three granddaughters.
Mary Ann Ripple Spokane
Funeral Mass for Mary Ann Ripple, 73, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes. Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 53-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Ripple died Monday. She was born in Bemidji, Minn.
Mrs. Ripple worked as a medical technician.
She was a 53-year member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Survivors include three brothers, John Ripple of Spokane, Gordon Ripple of Colfax, Wash., and Harold Ripple of Skanee, Mich.; three sisters, Virginia Hudson of Rochester, Minn., Paula Comin of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Helen Ripple of San Francisco.

Lawrence `Tick’ Klock Sr. Spokane
Memorial service for Lawrence E. “Tick” Klock Sr., 84, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Belfield, N.D., Mr. Klock, died Feb. 21.
He was raised in Grandview, Wash., and graduated from high school there. He earned a pharmaceutical degree from Washington State University.
Mr. Klock moved to Colfax, Wash., in 1942 and opened the Tick Clock Drug Store, operating it until 1965 when he retired and moved to Spokane.
He also owned and managed drug stores in the Washington cities of St. John, Harrington, Ritzville and Wilbur, as well as the Idaho cities of St. Maries and Coeur d’Alene. He continued to manage several of the stores after retiring.
Mr. Klock was a member of the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame, the El Katif Shrine, Spokane Central Lions Club, Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, Washington State Pharmaceutical Association and the Washington State University Alumni Association and Booster Club.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nadine; a son, Lawrence Klock Jr., and a daughter, Nancy Blott, both of Spokane; a sister, Lucille Cleaves of Arlington, Wash.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret McEachran Spokane
Memorial service for Margaret “Pegg” McEachran, 55, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 35-year Spokane resident, Mrs. McEachran died Thursday. She was born in Butte, Mont.
She received a bachelor’s degree in design from Montana State University. She moved to Spokane and worked at Burgan’s Furniture for several years.
She later received a teaching certificate from Eastern Washington University and taught sixth grade at Jefferson Elementary before becoming a homemaker.
Mrs. McEachran was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Glenrose Women’s Association and Chapter H of the Philanthropic Educational Organization. She also served as a board member for the Friends of Manito.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Rich; three sons, Todd, Marc and Corey McEachran; a daughter, Scotta Christlieb; and two grandsons.

Naomi Ruth Thompson Spokane
Funeral for Naomi Ruth Thompson, 71, was Friday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South. Burial was be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Thompson died last Saturday. She was born in Hay, Wash.
She worked as a telephone operator for answering services before working for the company that eventually became US West. She retired in 1990.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Her husband, Bille, died in 1970.
Survivors include three sons, Bill and Nick Thompson, both of Spokane, and Tommy Thompson of Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Cheryl Kilmer and Janine Thompson, both of Spokane, and Teresa Wilponen of Chattaroy; two brothers, Nathan Summers of Bellevue, Wash., and Phillip Summers of Greenacres; three sisters, Berdie Summers and Thelma Reidt, both of Hay, and Carol Hendersen of Utah; 13 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Floyd Sparrow Spokane
Visitation for Floyd Sparrow, 88, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mr. Sparrow, who was born in Logan, Utah, died Thursday.
He graduated from Downey (Idaho) High School.
In 1931 he married Olive Gambles.
In 1944 they moved to Spokane from Blackfoot, Idaho, and he worked as an insurance agent for various companies.
Mr. Sparrow later worked as a salesman for Spokane Roofing and Siding Co. He retired in 1990.
He was a member of the Spokane Valley Elks Lodge and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Colleen Linza of Jerome, Idaho, and Glenda Hammer of Spokane; three sons, Dee, Terry and Don Sparrow, all of Spokane; two sisters, Delma Checketts of Preston, Idaho, and Lorna Coddington of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Joan Starke Spokane
Graveside service for Joan C. Starke, 73, will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
A 45-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Starke died Wednesday. She was born in Minnesota.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland in 1943.
Mrs. Starke worked for Pacific Bell in San Francisco before moving to the Spokane area in 1954.
In 1955 she married Gail Starke. He died in April.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Tracy Starke of Colbert; a daughter, Candy Johnson of Spokane; three sisters, Bobbie Wilmot of Deer Park, Dolly Zimbardi of New York and Pat Cristgau of Connecticut; and six grandchildren.
Trudy Sulpizio Spokane
Funeral for Trudy Sulpizio, 68, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A Spokane resident since 1986, Mrs. Sulpizio died Tuesday. She was born in Chicago.
She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, the FLEA’s and a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary in Clarkston, Wash.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Edward; six daughters, Anna-Margaret Dunn of Spokane, Linda Kern of Layton, Utah, Shirley Bowman of Dothan, Ala.; Betty Ryan and Dorothea Ward, both of Columbus, Ga., and DormaLynn Williams of Port Orchard, Wash.; a son, James Ward of Spokane; four sisters, Fran Prusatis of Citrus Heights, Calif., Pauline Howell of Jacumba, Calif., and Patricia Petropoulos and Jeanette Callie, both of San Diego; two brothers, James Slaby of San Diego and Frank Slaby of Oakboro, N.C.; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Elsbeth Bush Moscow, Idaho
A reception honoring the life of Elsbeth M. Bush, 52, will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the University Inn’s Silver and Gold Room in Moscow. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bush, who was born in Altoona, Pa., died Wednesday from injuries suffered in an automobile/pedestrian accident in Moscow.
She grew up in Altoona and graduated from high school there in 1962.
In 1972 she moved to Moscow and worked at the University of Idaho as News Bureau/Sports Information secretary from 1974 until 1979.
Mrs. Bush was the secretary for the UI Football Program from 1979 until 1982. She went to work at the College of Mines until 1990 and then took a position as secretary for the Vandal Boosters.
She graduated from UI with a degree in general studies in 1988.
In 1990 she married John Bush.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Vandal Boosters.
Survivors include her husband; and two sons, David Campbell of Moscow and Matt Campbell of Pullman.
