Boat launching permits for the 1999 season at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area will go on sale this week for $30.

On May 1, the cost of the season permit will be raised to $40, park officials say. Seniors or disabled people with Golden Age or Golden Access passports get 50 percent discounts.

One-day boat launching permits continue to cost $6.

To purchase a season launch permit by mail, send payment, (passport number if applicable) and a stamped self-addressed envelope to National Park Service, 1008 Crest Dr., Coulee Dam, WA 99116. Send it attention Boat Launch Permit. Info: (509) 738-6266, ext. 109.
