Hoop Shoot Winner Gains Third Victory

Six age-group winners were decided last weekend in Coeur d’Alene in the local Elks Hoop Shoot free-throw contest.

Lindsey Stark of Bryan Elementary made 16 of 25 free throws to win the 10-11 girls division. It’s the third straight year Stark has won.

Matthew Marceau of Ramsey Elementary won for a second straight year as he made 20 of 25 to take the 10-11 boys.

Other winners: Casey Ward, Seltice Elementary (14 of 25), 8-9 boys; Jessica Smalley, Borah Elementary (16 of 25), 8-9 girls; Ryan Morton, Canfield Middle School (18 of 25), 12-13 boys; and Jade McDaniel, Timberlake Junior High (18 of 25), 12-13 girls.

The winners advance to district Jan. 23 at North Idaho College. The winners from Kellogg, Wallace and Sandpoint lodges will meet the CdA-area winners. Those winners advance to state, which will be held Feb. 13 in Idaho Falls.
