Five years ago: Robert Fiske Jr. was appointed by Attorney General Janet Reno to investigate President and Hillary Clinton’s Arkansas land deals. Shannon Faulkner became the first woman to attend classes at The Citadel in South Carolina. She joined the cadet corps in August 1995 under court order, but soon dropped out, citing isolation and stress.
One year ago: A jury was selected in Amarillo, Texas, to hear a multi-million-dollar lawsuit filed by Texas cattlemen against talk show host Oprah Winfrey over on-air comments about beef safety.
