Games Postponed Again

Stephen F. Austin’s Friday night home games against Texas-Arlington were rescheduled after the son of UTA men’s basketball coach Eddie McCarter was murdered at his grandmother’s house in Alabama.

At first, the women’s game was postponed from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. so players, coaches and fans could attend the funeral of former Stephen F. Austin star Katrina Price, who died Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The schools reset both the women’s and men’s games to Feb. 8.

McCarter’s son, James Edward McCarter, 26, was shot twice early in the day as he investigated a noise outside that had awakened him, Alabaster, Ala., police Sgt. Curtis Rigney said.
