Galleries Host Arts Tour

More than 30 art galleries will extend their viewing hours for the bi-annual Spokane Visual Arts Tour on Feb. 5.

The event, which is sponsored by the Spokane Arts Commission, will begin at 5 and continue until 9 p.m. Some galleries will host artist receptions.

Much of the tour is self-guided and within walking distance downtown.

Transportation will be provided, however, by the Spokane Transit Authority for $1.

Corbin offers craft classes

A schedule of classes beginning the week of Feb. 1 has been issued by the Corbin Art Center, 507 W. Seventh.

Adult classes include tole painting roses, paper embossing, crocheted rugs, Victorian decoupage valentines, a Victorian valentine wreath, painting with acrylics, paper marbling, soap making with aromatherapy, fimo flower beads and rubber stamping techniques.

Children’s classes include making Victorian valentines for ages 3 to 5, and another for those who are 6 to 13 years old.

NIC showcases Portland artist

Paintings by Laura Nugent, a Portland artist, will be on display from Monday to Feb. 19 in the Boswell Hall Corner Gallery on the North Idaho College campus in Coeur d’ Alene.

A reception for the show will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday with a gallery walk at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday. A special slide lecture discussion will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Todd Hall on campus.
