Andria Grafflin Completes Basic Military Training
Several Inland Northwest residents recently made military news.
Army Pvt. Andria J. Grafflin graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.
Grafflin is the daughter of Ron Grafflin, Spokane, and Gail Grafflin, Orick, Calif.
Marine Lance Cpl. Frederick J. Busch was promoted to his present rank while serving with Personnel Support Detachment 17, Marine Wing Support Group 17, 1st Marine Air Wing in Okinawa, Japan.
Busch is the son of Frederick Busch, Deer Park.
Army Reserve Pvts. Michael P. Johnston and Zachary S. Ewers, students at University High School, graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.
Johnston is the son of Gordon Johnston and Ronda Johnston, both of Spokane.
Ewers is the son of Barbara Farrell, Spokane.
Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Steven L. Kruse participated in Joint Task Force Exercise 98 while assigned to Commander, 2nd Fleet, aboard the USS Mount Whitney, which is home-ported in Norfolk, Va.
Kruse is a 1977 graduate of Garfield (Wash.) High School and the son of Larry and Miriam Kruse, Garfield.
Army Pvts. Jeremiah R. Bauman and Gary W. Pichette both graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
Bauman is the son of Linda Bauman, Newman Lake.
Pichette, who is a 1998 graduate of Shadle Park High School, is the son of Bev and Albert Pichette, Spokane.
Army Pfc. Robert H. Colliton graduated from basic training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
Colliton is a son of Susan and Jeffery Colliton, Spokane, and a 1998 graduate of Shadle Park High School.
Air Force Airmen 1st Class Karen A. Jakubczak and Scott A. Meyers graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
Jakubczak, daughter of Gene and Nancy Jakubczak, Spokane, is a 1996 graduate of Ferris High School.
Meyers, a 1998 graduate of Medical Lake High School, is the son of Dudley and Gayle Meyers, Medical Lake.
