Gordon `Ray’ Litalien Spokane

Memorial service for Gordon “Ray” Litalien, 63, will be at 4 p.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church. Riplinger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Litalien, who was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, died Wednesday.

He served in the Air Force, retiring as a senior master sergeant after 23 years.

Mr. Litalien worked as a production coordinator at The Spokesman-Review for 16 years.

He was a member of the Air Force National Gold Rifle Team, Presidents 100 Club and Assumption Catholic Church.

Mr. Litalien was a resident of the Coeur d’Alene and Bonners Ferry areas before moving to Spokane eight years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas Litalien of Post Falls and Tony Litalien of Eugene, Ore.; three daughters, Kim Stout of Spokane, and Janice Dube and Denise Kutz, both of Eugene; three sisters, Evelyn Holmes of Coeur d’Alene, Jeanette Schuon of Spokane and Bea Evans of Corvallis, Ore.; two brothers, Adrian Litalien of Bonners Ferry and Jerry Litalien of Coeur d’Alene; and 14 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Assumption Catholic Church.

Clarence Smith Deer Park

Funeral for Clarence Ray Smith, 96, will be at 2 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Deer Park. Burial will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Bloomington, Minn., Mr. Smith died Thursday.

He moved to Deer Park in the mid1960s and was a commercial cabinetmaker.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Mormon Church.

His wife, Helen, died in 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Dee Cragun of Deer Park; three sons, Richard Smith of Ritzville, Wash., Howard Smith of Redmond, Ore., and Dale Smith of Indianapolis; a brother, George Smith of Raleigh, S.C.; three sisters, Buelah Thorton of Shelton, Wash., Mabel Copley of Atkins, Minn., and Livie Chapman of Homer, Alaska; 56 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Low Spokane

Funeral Mass for Mary C. Low, 81, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. HennesseySmith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Low, who was born in Harrison County, Iowa, died Wednesday.

She worked as a teacher for the Ogden (Utah) City School District before moving to Spokane 17 years ago.

Mrs. Low was a member of the Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters of America, the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society and the Utah Education Association.

Her husband of 58 years, Edwin, died in 1996.

Survivors include a son, James Low of Fairbanks, Alaska; a daughter, Debbe Butters of Spokane; a brother, Vincent Hough of Grants Pass, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Roy Donnelly Spokane

Funeral Mass for Roy W. Donnelly, 68, will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A longtime Spokane resident, Mr. Donnelly died Wednesday. He was born in Spokane.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep and served as a seabee in the Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Mr. Donnelly worked for Metro Bus Lines Co. of Seattle for several years, retiring eight years ago and returning to Spokane.

He was a member of the Elks and Eagles lodges.

Survivors include a son, John Donnelly of Marysville, Wash.; and a brother, the Rev. John Donnelly of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Tech. Sgt. Richard Visintainer Spokane

Visitation for Tech. Sgt. Richard Gene Visintainer, 48, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Yates Funeral Home, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Visintainer, who was born in Riverside, Mich., died Jan. 13 in a KC-135 tanker crash in Germany.

He graduated from high school in Benton Harbor, Mich. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.

After his discharge, he attended North Idaho College, where he played on the college baseball team and received an associate degree in forestry. He made his home in Coeur d’Alene and worked for the Bureau of Land Management. He also worked for Idaho Forest Industries and U.P.S.

He married Susan McEuen in 1978 in Coeur d’Alene and they moved to Kennewick in 1980. He worked as a truck driver for Darigold, then moved to Spokane where he was currently driving a truck for U.R.M.

He was a member of the Washington Teamsters and had served 21 years with the Washington Air National Guard.

Mr. Visintainer is survived by a son, Rocky Visintainer of Spokane; a daughter, Bridget Visintainer of Spokane; a step-daughter, Allison McMillan of Spokane; a brother, Jim Visintainer of Glendale, Ariz.; a sister, Irene Cole of Peoria, Ariz.; his step-father, Had O’Leary of Riverside; and two grandchildren.

Sarah Lobe Lind, Wash.

Funeral for Sarah Lobe, 87, will be at 11 a.m. today at Zion Congregational Church in Lind. Burial will follow at the Lind Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lobe, who was born in Ruff, Wash., died Wednesday.

She moved to the family farm southeast of Lind in 1918 and married Otto Lobe in 1933.

They moved to a farm near Ralston, Wash., and in 1936 to a farm west of Lind.

In 1950 Mrs. Lobe moved into Lind. Her husband died in 1966.

She was a member of Zion Congregational Church, the Women’s Fellowship at the church, the Lind Grange and the Ritzville Women’s Bowling Association.

Survivors include a son, Gary Lobe of Lind; three daughters, Evelyn Heider of Ritzville, Joyce Presto of Kennewick and Elaine Kutschkau of Pasco; a brother, Rudy Stelzer of Lind; a sister, Ida Jurgens of Dryden, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Lois Hodges Spokane

Funeral for Lois A. Hodges, 80, will be at 1 p.m. today at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hodges, who was born in Harlowton, Mont., died Thursday.

She graduated from Harlowton High School in 1936 and married Ben Hodges in 1937. They moved to Spokane in 1970.

Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker and a volunteer for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Franklin, and a son, Gary Hodges, both of Spokane; a sister, Frances Brown of Stevensville, Mont.; a brother, Bill Warner; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rose Davis Spokane

Funeral for Rose Marie Davis, 91, will be at noon today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

A 49-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Davis died Wednesday. She was born in Philadelphia.

Her husband of 60 years, John, died in 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria of Spokane; two sisters, Julia Rodriguez and Helen Brautigan, both of New York; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
