Florida Cracks Top 25
Florida (14-3) made its first appearance in the AP poll in four years, using convincing victories over LSU and Tennessee to slide in at No. 25.
At the top of the poll, Connecticut held the No. 1 spot for the ninth consecutive week. The Huskies received 54 first-place votes and 1,755 points from the national media panel.
Duke was second with the other 17 No. 1 votes and 1,719 points. Stanford held at No. 3. UCLA moved up to No. 11, while Arizona fell to 13th.
Tennessee remained the overwhelming choice for No. 1 in the AP women’s basketball poll.
Purdue, Louisiana Tech and Georgia held the next three places. UCLA is eighth, and UC Santa Barbara, ranked the first two weeks of the season, is back in at No. 25.
