Moorer Arrested

Former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer faces charges of drunken driving and evading arrest after driving his car into a ditch in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

A Rutherford County police officer reported he was forced to pull his gun on Moorer, who was angry and did not want to cooperate.

France’s Jean-Baptiste Mendy (53-2-7) retained the WBA lightweight championship, outpointing Argentina’s Alberto Sicurella (47-2) in Paris.

On the undercard, Russia’s Anatoly Alexandrov stopped Arnulfo Castillo of Mexico in the ninth round to retain his WBO super featherweight title.
