Leroy `Shorty’ Zeller Steptoe, Wash.
Funeral for Leroy W. “Shorty” Zeller, 72, will be at 2 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse.
Mr. Zeller, who was born in Lovell, Wyo., died Sunday.
He served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
In 1948 he married Alice West. She died in March 1982.
Mr. Zeller worked as a plumber for the physical plant at Washington State University before retiring in 1989.
He married Pat Robison in 1982, and they moved to Clear Creek, Wash., area south of Palouse. In 1994 they moved to Steptoe.
He was a member of the Palouse Grange and the Palouse Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry Zeller of Palouse, Dan Zeller of Pasadena, Calif., and Doug Zeller of Norco, Calif.; two brothers, Dwight and Robert Zeller, both of Troy, Idaho; three sisters, Clara Manchester of Clarkston, Wash.; Katherine Stark of Springdale, Wash., and Delores Grover of Oklahoma; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Mildred Anderberg-Ray Cheney
Memorial service for Mildred E. Anderberg-Ray, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderberg-Ray, who was born in Spokane, died Monday.
She graduated from North Central High School in 1926 and later married Elmer Anderberg.
They owned and operated Andy’s St. Lukes Confectionery in Spokane for many years.
After her husband’s death, she married Irl Ray. Mr. Ray preceded her in death.
She was a member of Faith Bible Church.
Survivors include a son, Merlyn Anderberg of Spokane; a brother, Eldon Shaver of Spokane; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret (Brasch) Timm Kihei, Hawaii
Memorial service for Margaret Lucille (Brasch) Timm, 78, will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Valley Church of Christ, 17221 E. Broadway. Ballard Family Mortuary in Hawaii was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Timm, who was born in Spokane, died Jan. 12.
An eight-year resident of Kihei, she was a member of Hope Chapel in Kihei. She also was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Bill Timm of Adelaide, Australia; two daughters, Debbi Brown of Kihei and Peggy Campbell of Spokane; a brother, Vernon Brasch of Spokane; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ruth Michels Spokane
Memorial service for Ruth C. Michels, 77, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Michels, who was born in La Crosse, Wis., died Monday.
She was a 50-year Spokane resident and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Homer; three sons, Joe Michels, Karel Michels of Vancouver, Wash., and Peter Michels of Denver; a daughter, Ann Browning of Denver; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

William `Doc’ Bryant Spokane
Memorial service for William “Doc” Bryant, 68, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home.
A 40-year Spokane resident, Mr. Bryant died Monday. He was born in Bulloch County, Ga.
In 1950, he joined the National Guard and during the Korean War he served with the Army. After the war, he went back to serving with the National Guard until 1953.
Mr. Bryant was an ironworker with commercial builders for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Margie; a son, William Bryant of Pomona Park, Fla.; three daughters, Donnie Bryant of Spokane, Angela Perez of Ritzville, Wash., and Lawanda Packard of Lake Worth, Fla.; one sister, five brothers, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
John Bagott Palouse, Wash.
Visitation for John Clark Bagott, 87, will be from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Palouse Federated Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse.
Mr. Bagott, who was born in Charleston, Ill., died Monday.
He graduated from Palouse High School in 1928 and married Bonny Bittick in 1934.
For many years Mr. Bagott owned and operated Bagott Motors, which was started by his father in 1929. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Bagott served as president of the Palouse Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Palouse Federated Church.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Bud Bagott of Palouse; two daughters, Pinky Glass of Pullman and Nancy Graham of Tuscon, Ariz.; two grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Larry Mooney Spokane
Memorial service for Larry W. Mooney, 24, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2218, 1730 E. Sprague. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mooney, who was born in Bakersfield, Calif., died Friday.
He moved to Spokane in 1976 and worked as a roofer for a local construction company for many years.
He was a member of the Salvation Inn Church.
Survivors include his wife of two years, Millie; a daughter, Kaylee, and two stepdaughters, Heather and Jennifer, all at home; his parents, Charles and Kathryn Mooney of Spokane; two brothers, David Mooney of Arizona and Charles Mooney of California; and two sisters, Donna Larson and Deniece Rancourt, both of Spokane.
Ursula Dewey Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for Ursula Evangeline Dewey, 70, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lincoln Heights Congregational Church. Spokane Cremation and Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dewey, who was born in Sand Coulee, Mont., died Tuesday.
She graduated from Great Falls (Mont.) High School.
She married N. Keith Dewey in 1950, and they later moved to Spokane. In 1984 they moved to Coeur d’Alene and in 1998 moved back to Spokane.
Mrs. Dewey was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, David Dewey of Seattle; three daughters, Dana Bonawitz and Daylene Dewey, both of Spokane, and Denise Dewey of Seattle; a brother, Kenneth Harlan II of Waller, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Louise Bair Spokane
Funeral for Louise E. Bair, 79, was held Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial followed at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
A 41-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Bair died Saturday. She was born in Montrose County, Colo.
Mrs. Bair worked at Lakeland Village for many years before retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1474 and Westgate Christian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Terry and Robert Bair, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen Brown Spokane
Private service for Helen B. Brown, 80, will be held at a later date. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 57-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Brown died Friday. She was born in Fresno, Calif.
She worked as the secretary for the senior vice president in the trust department of Seafirst Bank for 20 years.
Her husband, Allender, died in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, James and Thomas Brown, both of Spokane; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Samuel Huff Pullman
Graveside service for Samuel Levi Huff, 78, will be Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Seattle. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Huff, who was born in McDade, Texas, died Tuesday.
He graduated from Elgin (Texas) High School.
Mr. Huff entered the Navy in 1939 and served on the USS Lexington in the Battle of the Coral Sea in World War II. He also participated in the invasion of southern France.
He served on the USS Endicott, and he retired from the Navy in 1967.
In 1943 he married Pearl Drake, and in 1959 he graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.
In 1967 they moved to Pullman, where he worked for Washington State University as a food service manager.
He received the Ivy Restaurateurs of Distinction award from the Institutions Professional Magazine in 1972 and retired in 1978.
Mr. Huff was a member of the Elgin Masonic Lodge, USS Lexington Minutemen’s Club, Retired Officers Association, Rotary International, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Colton Gun Club, Lewiston Gun Club and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Samuel Huff of Roseburg, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Hummel of Sumner, Wash., and Sandra Vereb of East Wenatchee; two brothers, Clarence Huff of Elgin and Wendell Huff of Temple, Texas; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Rosemarie Heidenreich Spokane
Memorial service for Rosemarie Heidenreich, 69, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Riplinger Funeral home. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
A 25-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Heidenreich died Monday. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y.
Mrs. Heidenreich was a manager in the food service industry for many years.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and the Sons of Norway.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond Harding of Spokane, Robert Tate of Grand Island, N.Y., and Richard Tate of Michigan; a daughter, Rosemarie Harris of Deer Park; four brothers, one sister, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret (Phillips) Garrison Spokane
Funeral service for Margaret L. (Phillips) Garrison, 70, was held Tuesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial followed at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
A 50-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Garrison died Thursday. She was born in Naples, Idaho.
She worked at Galena Army Air Depot during World War II and later worked for Burgan’s Furniture. She also worked at Bill’s Thrift Store for 25 years and retired in the mid-1970s.
Her husband, George, died in 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Melodee Garrison of Spokane and Linda Tibbett of Seattle; two sisters, Ruth Blum of Spokane and Mary Ann Turner of Orient, Wash.; a brother, Donald Phillips of Spokane; a grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Bob Reichert Spokane
Funeral for Bob Reichert, 81, was held Wednesday at Fairmount Memorial Park.
A 75-year Spokane resident, Mr. Reichert died Saturday.
Born in Sandpoint, he served with the Army during World War II.
Mr. Reichert worked as a meat cutter in Spokane for 60 years. He also was a manager at the Fairchild Air Force Base Commissary.
He was a member of Silver Sam Trailer Club, Maveric Trailer Club and Corbin Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Vi; a daughter, Susan Partridge of Colbert; a sister, Irene Davis of Spokane; and two grandchildren.
Mark Mukai Auburn, Wash.
Memorial service for Mark Mitsuo Mukai, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Community Church in Auburn, Wash. A second memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Spokane. Burial will follow at the Spokane Memorial Gardens. Price Helton Funeral Home in Seattle is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mukai, who was born in Kingston, Wash., died Tuesday.
He moved to Spokane in 1944 and worked for Great Northern, Burlington Northern and Amtrak railroads for more than 35 years. He retired in 1979.
Mr. Mukai owned several apartment complexes in Spokane for many years.
In 1991 he moved to Auburn.
Mr. Mukai was a member of Grace Community Church in Auburn and First Baptist Church in Spokane.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kimiko; three sons, Dennis Mukai of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Donald Mukai of Bellevue, Wash. and David Mukai of Tokyo; three brothers, Tommy, Joe and Tomeo Mukai; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sarah Largent Potlatch, Idaho
Memorial service for Sarah Meleesa Largent, 17, will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Christian Center in Pullman. Private burial will follow at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Largent, who was born in Moscow, Idaho, died Monday from cancer.
A junior at Potlatch High School, she was a member of the Potlatch Drill Team and the Potlatch High School Girls League. She was selected the school’s homecoming queen in 1998.
Miss Largent was a member of the Calvary Christian Center.
Survivors include her parents, Rick Largent of Moscow and Kelly and Dan Smith of Potlatch; a brother, Jason Largent of Moscow; two sisters, Angela Helmke of Farmington, Wash., and MacKenzie Smith of Potlatch; her grandparents, John and Ardis Largent of Potlatch, and Jim and Donna Parkes of Moscow.

Velma Spangle New Castle, Del.

Mrs. Spangle, who was born in Sandpoint, died Thursday.
She lived in Spokane from 1960 until 1973, when she moved to New Castle.
Her husband, Claude, died in 1960.
Survivors include two children, Donalee Blaine of Delaware and Ronald Spangle of Spokane; and one granddaughter, Erin.

Thelma Welch Spokane

A 10-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Welch died Thursday.
Born in Palouse, Wash., Mrs. Welch worked as a restaurant cook for many years.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Welch of Spokane and Richard Welch of Seattle; two daughters, Shirley Strnot of Spokane and Mary Adams of Ohio; a brother, Delbert Averill of Bremerton; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
