Colville’S Win Evens Its Record

Colville and Pullman were as different as possible just four games ago.

But the two are dead even in the Great Northern League, with 4-4 records, after Colville rallied for a 48-43 home win on Saturday.

Pullman started the league season 4-0 while Colville went 0-4. Pullman has struggled since post Ali Johnston moved to California.

Kristin Cornwell scored 12 of her 14 points in the second half, including a three-point play to give Colville a 44-42 lead with 3 minutes left. Lindsey Braff followed with a steal and basket for a four-point lead.

Pullman’s Christa Brossman scored 15 of her 29 points in the fourth quarter.

Brittany Douglas and Lorin Griffitts combined for 12 rebounds to guide a 32-25 advantage as the visiting Vikings closed out their regular season by defeating the Bantams to tie Moscow for the league title.

CdA’s Dani Bielec added seven steals. The Vikings won their first league title in five years.

Michelle Bausch hit 7 of 15 from the field to lead the visiting Bengals over the Blackhawks.

Cheney played its second game without leading scorer Kara Weitman (15.5 ppg), who was injured during warmups on Jan. 22. Weitman remains 35 points shy of 1,000 for her career.
