Dangerous Street Corner Needs To Be Publicized From The Spokesman-Review July 5, 1950

To the Editor of The Spokesman-Review:

I want to thank you for the picture and the article about the latest wreck on the corner of Wall and Wellesley. I wish it were possible for this corner to have more publicity.

I know nothing about the cost of four-way traffic lights, but surely the taxpayers have already paid for them. It would be interesting to know the cost of repairs for the stop signs and the blinker light. People who live on these corners and those who wait for buses are certainly living on borrowed time.

After seeing the damage one speeding car can do to a large truck, stop sign, street light, blinker light and a large tree, I suppose we should just be thankful that a gasoline tanker was not involved.

If the “powers that be” doubt the seriousness of the situation here I will be glad to furnish chairs for their comfort any evening or Sunday so they can sit and count the number of drivers who ignore the traffic signals. Mrs. Gordon Hendricks Spokane
