John `Little’ Box Coeur d’Alene
Memorial service for John David “Little” Box, 25, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dalton Gardens (Idaho) Church of Christ. Yates Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Box, who was born in Coeur d’Alene, died Tuesday in a one car accident in Coeur d’Alene.
He grew up in Post Falls and attended schools there. He worked on a fishing boat in Alaska for several years before returning to the Coeur d’Alene area.
Mr. Box worked in the construction field and also worked as security personnel at various local businesses, most recently for Aces Wild nightclub.
He was a member of the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Arvada and Roy Schumacher of Coeur d’Alene; his father, Larry Box of Alaska; two sisters, Krisstina Box of Kellogg and Nicole Schumacher of Coeur d’Alene; and his grandmothers, Bernice Haught of Coeur d’Alene and Jean Box of Athol, Idaho.

Helsa `Beth’ Brewer Coeur d’Alene
Viewing for Helsa “Beth” Brewer, 36, will be held at a later date in Tooele, Utah. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Brewer, who was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, died Saturday.
She had worked as a certified nurses assistant and moved to Coeur d’Alene one year ago from Tooele.
Mrs. Brewer was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include her husband, Jess; two children, Jeremy and Brandi Juber, both of Hurricane, Utah; two sisters, Annie Christenson and Lynn Wilkerson, both of Utah; and two grandchildren.
Lesley Galland Rathdrum, Idaho
Memorial service for Lesley Alden “Les” Galland, 42, will be held at a later date. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Galland, who was born in Pasadena, Calif., died Monday.
He moved to Caldwell, Idaho, in 1959 and graduated from high school there in 1975.
Mr. Galland worked in the research department at J.R. Simplot for many years and moved to North Idaho seven years ago.
He recently accepted a position with Getronics, formerly Wang Global, in the Spokane Valley.
Mr. Galland was a member of the Panhandle Yacht Club of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Galland of Rathdrum; his parents, Len and Lorna Galland of Harrison, Idaho; and special friend, Debra Garland of Caldwell.
Douglas Heaton Spokane
Memorial service for Douglas E. Heaton, 50, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Jesuit House Chapel. A reception will follow at the West Central Community Center. Spokane Cremation and Burial is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Heaton died Monday.
After he graduated from high school, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Heaton worked as an auto mechanic and in other various positions over the years. He was known for his love of old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie; a daughter, Arla Olson of Spokane; his mother, Doris Heaton of Metamora, Ill.; two brothers, Donald Heaton of Spokane and David Heaton of Woodinville, Wash.; and a sister, Debbie Dooley of Metamora.
Myrna `Cookie’ Roberts Spokane
No service will be held for Myrna A. “Cookie” Roberts, 57, at her request. English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Roberts, who was born in Everett, died Tuesday.
She was a homemaker, living in Everett until moving to Spirit Lake, Idaho, in 1987 and then to Priest River, Idaho, in 1995.
Mrs. Roberts moved to Spokane earlier this year due to health reasons.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd “Chip” Moran of Spokane and Todd Moran of Spirit Lake; a daughter, Debra Mullaley of Priest River; her mother and stepfather, Arlene and Leroy Berry of Marysville, Wash.; a sister, Marlene Blish of Spirit Lake; and five grandchildren.
Winifred (Thurman) Sutton Spokane
Graveside service for Winifred (Thurman) Sutton, 93, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Rockford Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sutton, who was born in Santa Cruz, Calif., died Tuesday.
She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane and attended the University of Washington.
Mrs. Sutton worked in the photo retouching industry for several years.
She was a known painter and photographer, and also composed music and wrote poetry.
Her husband, William, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Thurman, and two sisters, Beatrice Sorenson and Adeline Stuart, all of Spokane; four nephews and two nieces.

Florence Shriver St. Maries
Service for Florence L. Shriver, 60, will be today at 11 a.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Graveside service will be Monday at West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
Mrs. Shriver, who was born in Pendleton, Ore., died Saturday.
She grew up and attended schools in Oregon, and graduated from Eastern Oregon College in La Grande in 1953.
Mrs. Shriver moved to Idaho and worked for the Boise Chamber of Commerce and the Idaho Medical Association as an executive secretary in the early 1960s.
She married Bill Shriver in 1960 and lived in Buhl until moving to Orofino, Idaho, in 1969.
Mrs. Shriver moved to St. Maries in 1985.
She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jeff Shriver of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Cindy Carr of Poulsbo, Wash.; a sister, Nellie Campbell of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.

Helen Bushy Spokane
Funeral for Helen J. Bushy, a 42-year Spokane resident, will be at 1 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Bushy, who was born in Crookston, Minn., died Sunday. She was 76.
She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Louis, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Anderson, Mary Rowley and Bobbi Miethe, and three sons, Ron, John and Joe Bushy, all of Spokane; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
