With funding from a $300 Chevron Corp. grant, the Dalton Country Cousins 4-H Club and Pinewood Care Center residents recently united to construct six birdhouses and install a feeder and birdbath in the courtyard of the Pinewood center at 2514 N. Seventh St. in Coeur d’Alene.

Pinewood social worker Barbara Jones, employees and administration also contributed support to the project.

Country Cousins co-leader Peggy Wasserman helped secure the grant, which also will fund several future community projects, including the painting of the clinic rooms at Coeur d’Alene’s free Dirne Community Health Clinic and a tree planting at the Dalton Gardens Horse Arena.
