Neither Rain Nor Virus…

Stamps will soon be a mouse click away with a new Postal Service computer program that allows customers to buy them on the Internet and print them up as well. Once the software is made public, PC Postage will allow customers to buy stamps from certain Web sites and print them directly onto envelopes and mailing labels. PC Postage is being tested by a select number of small businesses in California and the Washington, D.C., area and could be available nationwide by the end of summer, Patricia Gibert, the Postal Service’s vice president for retail sales, said Wednesday. The trial targets 8 million small business and home office customers who find stamps inconvenient, but don’t want to buy or rent a postage meter.
