The Boss Is Back

Bruce Springsteen kicked off his American tour Thursday night with a sold-out concert, the first in a 15-night stand at New Jersey’s Continental Airlines Arena. Springsteen reunited with his E Street band for his first tour with them in 11 years. Fans snatched up 308,000 tickets for the 15 New Jersey shows from Thursday to Aug. 12. The 15-night stand in a single arena sets an industry record, breaking Springsteen’s own mark of 11 shows in East Rutherford in 1992.

“It’s the last great rock ‘n’ roll tour of the century,” said Robert Santelli, a vice president at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.
