Auditions Being Held For ‘1776’
Spokane Civic Theatre will hold auditions for “1776,” its season opener, at 7 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 on the theater’s main stage, 1020 N. Howard.
Needed are 25 men who are at least 25 years old; one women in her early 20s; and another in her early 40s. Auditioners are to prepare a two-minute song that’s not from the musical. Bring your sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Director of the play is Marilyn Langbehn, and Scarlett Hepworth is the musical director.

Corbin Art Center, 507 W. Seventh, has issued next week’s offerings of children’s classes.
“Paint Potpourri,” “Paper Magic,” “Color Magic” and “Craft Time” for children 3 to 5 years old; and“Catch the Wind” and “Creative Crafts” for those 6 to 11 years old.

“Drawing in Watercolor” workshop, sponsored by the Citizen’s Council for the Arts, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Art Building on the North Idaho College campus in Coeur d’Alene.
Ken Spiering, artist and sculptor, will teach wetmedia drawing, study and demonstration of figures using full palette, discussions and techniques. Experience in watercolor is recommended but not required.
