Open house will be Tuesday
The Providence Center for Faith and Healing at Sacred Heart Medical Center will have an open house from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday to acquaint visitors with a place where patients, family and staff can go for prayer and meditation.
The center, in the former convent of the Sisters of Providence in the hospital complex, includes a garden, benches, ponds and waterfalls.
Educational seminars and workshops will also be held in the nondenominational center, 101 W. Eighth. (474-3081)
Revival on Wednesday
An “Old Time Revival” to honor the late Rev. John G. Lake will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Riverfront Park’s North Bank Shelter.
The event will be sponsored by Life Concepts.
During the early 1900s, Lake established a healing ministry in Spokane, considered then as being “the healthiest city in the world,” said Doug Bauman, spokesman.
The evening will include music, drama, dance, testimonies and guest speaker Gwen Shaw, a missionary to China and founder of The End-Time Handmaidens and Servants. (468-0564)
Seminar planned
Last Trumpet Ministries International of Wisconsin will host a “Last Days” seminar in the downtown DoubleTree Hotel from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and next Saturday.
David Meyer, a former astrologer, palm reader and numerologist, is the featured speaker. Now specializing in Bible prophecy and the occult, he will discuss the Y2K issue and witchcraft.
On his Web site, http://welcome.to/ lasttrumpet, Meyer claims to be able to expose occult powers behind the government and debunks the commonly accepted history of Christmas and Easter.
