Marion Hathaway Careywood, Idaho

No service will be held for Marion Elizabeth Hathaway, 88, at her request. Yates Funeral Home In Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hathaway, who was born in Happy, Texas, died Wednesday.

She spent much of her life in California, Washington, and Idaho.

She married Walter Hathaway in 1929.

Mrs. Hathaway worked as a licensed nurse in various hospitals as well as in the private sector.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Hathaway of Medford, Ore., and John Hathaway of Ashton, Idaho; three daughters, Nancy Henry of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Margaret DeMoss of Hayden, Idaho, and Anne Schilling of Coos Bay, Ore.; two brothers, six sisters and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tena (Weidmer) Lester Hayden, Idaho

Funeral for Tena (Weidmer) Lester, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial park.

Mrs. Lester, who was born in New Leipzig, N.D., died Wednesday. She was a 55-year Hayden resident.

She worked as a sales clerk in a dress shop for several years.

Mrs. Lester was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1435 Auxiliary in Spokane..

Survivors include her husband, Jack; two daughters, Loretta Young of Stockton, Calif., and Arlene Miles of Woodstock, Ga.; two sisters, Esther Froelich of Mandan, N.D., and Ida Litt of Bismarck, N.D.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gary Porritt Spokane

Memorial service Gary D. Porritt Sr., 51, was held Saturday at St. David’s Episcopal Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

A 28-year Spokane resident, Mr. Porritt died Monday. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta.

Mr. Porritt worked as a local delivery truck driver for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; and a son, Gary Porritt Jr.

Charles Fredericks Deer Park

Funeral for Charles Dale Fredericks, 62, was Saturday at Life Center in Spokane. Burial was at Pines Cemetery.

Born in Kila, Mont., Mr. Fredericks died last Monday.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 1955 and served in the Navy.

Mr. Fredericks worked as a commercial and industrial electrician for many years.

He was a resident of the Spokane, Elk and Deer Park areas for many years and was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 73.

Survivors include a son, Steven Fredericks of Spokane; two daughters, Karen Watts of Post Falls and JoAnne Haws of Deer Lake; a sister, Mary Brahe of Deer Park; and 10 grandchildren.

Joan Jameison Hemet, Calif.

Graveside inurnment for Joan D. Jameison, born Florence Opal McCauley, will be at 3 p.m. today at the Newport (Wash.) Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jameison, who was born in Elk, died Jan. 11. She was 65.

She grew up and attended schools near Newport, graduating from Newport High School.

Mrs. Jameison had been living in California for the past 12 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Gail Anderson and Cynthia Lenning, and a son, Stanley Gonser, all of Spokane; four sisters, Lois Faucett of North Bend, Ore., Josephine Faust of Vermontville, Mich., Shirley Chappell of Chattaroy and Beverly Brown of Eureka, Mont.; two brothers, Ira McCauley of The Dalles, Ore., and Stanley McCauley of Lewiston; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Betty Blackburn Spokane

Memorial service for Betty P. Blackburn, 64, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home.

A 40-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Blackburn died Thursday. She was born in Alcoa, Tenn.

She married Myrthin Blackburn in 1955.

Mrs. Blackburn was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Blackburn of Evansville, Ind., and David Blackburn of Spokane; and 10 grandsons.
