The 4A team opened with a 16-6 victory over players from 2A schools. They capped the day with a 7-4 win over a combined team of 3A and 1A players.

Danny Crowley of Rogers, who had three hits against the 2A players, and Derek Pegg of Gonzaga Prep, who hit a home run in the other game, were selected for the Saturday/Sunday games at Eastmont High. Also chosen among 4A players were Central Valley’s Justin Folkins and Shadle Park’s Chet Womach.

Filling out the 10-player field are Chris Hilsabeck, West Valley; Ray Ruiz, East Valley; Jake Krummel, Lakeside (Nine Mile); Nick Mayer, Colfax; Eric Bell, Northwest Christian; and Josh Taylor of Class B state champion Tekoa-Oakesdale.

Bell had two RBIs, including the game-winning single in the seventh, to lead B players to a 7-6 win over the 3A/1A team in the day’s first game.

CV’s Rob McGlothin, a late fill-in, played for the 3A/1A team in the first game and the 2A team in the second. He was 5 for 7 on the day.

Folkins and North Central’s Nick Froscheiser were a combined 4 for 5, with five runs and two RBIs, in the 4A’s first game. University’s Jon Spear had a two-run single during a three-run first in the 4A’s second game.
