Cabdriver Reports Being Chased By Armed Man In Wheelchair

A man in a wheelchair was arrested Friday night, accused of threatening a cabdriver with a gun.

Ray Garcia, 50, was arrested after the driver told police that Garcia rolled up to the cab, brandished a pistol and demanded the driver’s money.

The driver, who was parked at the Cedar Sands Apartments on East Wedgewood, said he tried to flee but was chased around the cab twice by Garcia. The driver eventually escaped and called the police.

The police found Garcia near Lyons and Addison. He was charged with intimidation with a weapon. A gun was not recovered.
