Ex-Husker Steinkuhler Arrested
Former Nebraska football star Dean Steinkuhler has been arrested on suspicion of domestic assault after his wife called Syracuse, Neb., police during a disturbance at his home.
Steinkuhler was released from jail hours later on $1,000 bail and the assault was classified as a misdemeanor.
Steinkuhler, 38, won the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy in 1983 as the nation’s top college lineman. He played eight years as an offensive lineman for the NFL’s Houston Oilers.
Defensive lineman Jeff Lageman, a key component in making the Jacksonville Jaguars competitive early in their existence, said he will retire after 10 seasons in the NFL.
