Fake Cop Sought

Secret Witness is offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who impersonated a police officer and robbed a Spokane resident in his home.

The night of June 3, a man answered a knock at his apartment door in the 2700 block of West Broadway.

When asked, the person at the door identified himself as “Spokane Police.”

Allowed to enter, the person claimed to be an undercover cop, telling the victim he was working on a “three-month investigation.”

The victim and another witness helped police develop a sketch of the suspect. He is white, in his 40s, about 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, with dark, graying hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call Secret Witness at 327-5111. Callers do not have to give their name to be eligible for the cash reward.
