Ready To Take The Plunge

Sophie Rhys-Jones says she was nervous the first time she met her prospective in-laws - they are the British royal family, after all - but that fiance Prince Edward eased her fears. “Edward said before I met them, ‘Don’t worry - they’re not that scary. They won’t bite!’ ” she said in a TV interview Sunday. Rhys-Jones and Prince Edward, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, are to be married Saturday in Windsor Castle. Rhys-Jones, a 34-year-old public relations executive, has dated the prince, a 35-year-old television producer, for almost six years, so, she says, she knows what she’s getting into. “I was fully aware of what family Edward belonged to, and if I had any reservations about the potential situation, … I would have gotten out of it a long time ago,” she said. “Edward’s always been very supportive of me.”
