Watercolor artist Margaret Shreves of Coeur d’Alene is featured at the St. Maries Art Gallery this month. She is a member of the North Above North Watercolor Society. Shreves’ drawings are produced using oils, pen and ink.
BONNER COUNTY Sandpoint
The Sandpoint Recreation Department is offering orienteering classes for youths and adults. Classes will be at 3 p.m. on June 18, 6 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 6 p.m. on Aug. 19. All classes will be held at Lakeview Park. Cost is $8 per person or $22 for a family of four.

KOOTENAI COUNTY Hayden
The University of Idaho Extension, Rural Roots Association and WSU Extension are offering a series of summer tours to small acreage farms in the region. The first tour will be June 23 to Nothing But Herbs in Hayden. Owner Barbara Arnold will lead the tour through her greenhouse and field production. The tour will be 9 a.m. to noon. LATAH COUNTY Moscow
Latah County police officers will be utilizing a new training simulator that will prepare them for real-life scenarios. The Professional Range Instruction Simulator (PRISim) reflects what can happen on the streets while testing the judgment and decision-making skills of the officers. Pullman, Whitman, Asotin and Garfield counties also will use the training system.
SHOSHONE COUNTY Wallace
The Shoshone County Planning and Zoning Commission tabled a request by a trailer park owner along the Coeur d’Alene River to add new trailers to the park. The request is tabled until repair work on a failed sewer system is completed. Serenity Terrace Trailer Park owner Tom Lane is working under a compliance schedule with the Department of Environmental Quality on repairs to an existing drain field which has failed. The failed system is allowing sewage to pool above ground. Lane has until July 1 to present an engineering design to the DEQ, and then until July 31 to have a working wastewater system in place.

LINCOLN COUNTY Libby
The Libby Dam Junior Ranger Program is under way and will run through Aug. 18. Programs are offered to children ages 4 to 12 Wednesdays at McGrade Community Park from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and at Lincoln County Campus band shell 11 a.m. to noon. WASHINGTON
PEND OREILLE COUNTY Ione
The committee formed to create a community center in Ione has chosen a suitable location. The group says a pair of lots behind the local bank at Blackwell and Central streets is its first choice. The lots have been offered for public works by the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints. The town is hunting down a community development block grant to construct the center.

The Spokane Symphony percussion section is sponsoring a percussion workshop on June 22 and 23 at Eastern Washington University.
