The Washington State Duck Calling Championship, sponsored by the Washington Duck Hunters, will be held July 10 at Skagit County Fairgrounds in Mount Vernon, Wash.

Categories are set for novice and accomplished callers. The overall winner will advance to the World Calling Championship in Arkansas.

The Washington contest will be in conjunction with the Skagit County Waterfowl Festival, which includes antique decoy collectors and a waterfowling gear swap.

Washington Duck Hunters, Inc., was organized 54 years ago as a sporting and conservation group.

Contestants will have 90 seconds to complete four compulsory calls: the hail call, the comeback call, the feeder call, and the mating call.
