Harvey Downs Spokane
Graveside service for Harvey Downs, 80, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Colfax (Wash.) Cemetery. Memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. March 20 at the Spokane Valley Elks Lodge, 2605 N. Robie Road. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Downs, who was born in Harrington, Wash., died Saturday.
He graduated from Quinault (Wash.) High School in 1936 and in 1942 joined the Air Force, serving as a B-17 bomber pilot until his retirement as a lieutenant colonel in 1965.
Mr. Downs married Ruth Mansfield in 1946, and he moved to Spokane in 1950.
After his retirement from the service he began working as a title examiner for the Department of Licensing. He retired in 1981.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, a member and past president of the Washington Bowling Association, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Retired Air Force Association and Swiss Internees Association. He also was a prisoner of war in Switzerland at one time.
His first wife died in 1973 and in 1978 he married Dorothy Plassman.
Survivors include his second wife; a daughter, Elizabeth Gobel of Amboy, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Lois Jean Brown of Mukilteo, Wash.; a brother, Fred Downs of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Neva Gae Korous of Yuma, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Damon McCauley Spokane
Memorial service for Damon L. McCauley, 39, will be at 7 p.m. today at Valley Fourth Memorial Church. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCauley, who was born in Englewood, Colo., died Saturday due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Pahrump, Nev.
He moved to Spokane from Libby, Mont., in 1976 and graduated from East Valley High School.
Mr. McCauley went on to receive a bachelor of arts degree in computer information systems from Whitworth College and in 1980 married Cynthia Skaufel.
He was self-employed as a technical support consultant and had also worked for Johnson Matthey Electronics.
Mr. McCauley was a member of Valley Fourth Memorial Church, where he served as deacon and worked with its youth group.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; two sons, Alexander and Anthony McCauley, and a daughter, April McCauley, all at home; his mother, Alicia Fowler of Vancouver, Wash.; four brothers, Devin McCauley of Spokane, Dennis Fowler of Tucson, Ariz., Gerald Ingmire of Libby and David McCauley of Seattle; and a sister, Darcel Markgraf of Kelowna, British Columbia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Fourth Memorial Church Deacon’s Fund or to Valley Christian School.
Philip `Gerry’ Barr Anaconda, Mont.
Graveside service for Philip “Gerry” Barr, 61, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Marshall Cemetery in Cheney. KT Riddle Funeral Homes in Anaconda is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barr, who was born in Burke, S.D., died Sunday.
He moved with his family to the John Day Valley in Eastern Oregon in 1939 and moved to Cheney in 1959.
Mr. Barr resided at the Latah Manor in Spokane from 1965 until 1992.
He later moved to Philipsburg, Mont., residing at the Granite County Memorial Nursing Home. He moved to Anaconda a short time ago.
Survivors include a brother, David Barr of Anaconda; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alfred Goos Mulino, Ore.
Memorial service for Alfred Henry Goos, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Corvallis (Ore.) Evangelical Church. Graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Spokane Memorial Gardens. McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goos, who was born in Washtucna, Wash., died Monday.
He graduated from Washtucna High School and served with the Army Air Corps during World War II in Italy and North Africa.
In 1946 he married Marjorie Hunt, and they lived in Spokane for many years, and he was a member of the Hayford Community Church. His wife died in 1974.
He married Elizabeth Jackson in 1975, and they moved to Prineville, Ore., where he was active with the Prineville Community Church.
In 1983 Mr. Goos moved to Corvallis and in 1996 to Mulino.
Survivors include his second wife; a son, Jim Goos of Tualatin, Ore.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Armstrong of Kennewick; two stepsons, Tom Halsey of Albany, Ore., and Ronald Halsey of Prineville; four stepdaughters, Laura Herring of Albany, Sharon Kitchen of Salem, Ore., Joyce Kosta of Sandy, Ore., and Sheila White of Mulino; a brother, Ted Goos of Spokane; three sisters, Ann Jahns and Martha Jones, both of Spokane, and Mina Boren of Washougal, Wash.; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Dolores `Dee’ McDowell Sandpoint
Visitation for Dolores L. “Dee” McDowell, 69, will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint. Service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be at Pinecrest Cemetery in Sandpoint.
Mrs. McDowell, who was born in Marengo, Iowa, died Saturday.
She lived in Iowa and Wyoming before moving to Laclede, Idaho, where she attended grade school. She then graduated from high school in Priest River, Idaho.
Mrs. McDowell married Charley Naccarato, and they lived in Priest River for several years before moving to Sandpoint in 1968.
She owned several Sandpoint businesses, including the Traveler’s Cafe, The Plantation and Meek’s Antiques.
Mrs. McDowell moved to Arizona in 1975 and owned The Trading Post, an antique business. She returned to Sandpoint after her husband died in 1990.
She married Patrick McDowell in 1993.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kristy Price of Dayton, Ohio, and Gina Naccarato of Coeur d’Alene; two sons, Matthew Price of Spokane and Kurt Naccarato of Libby, Mont.; a stepdaughter, Valerie Syth of Sandpoint; three sisters, Judy Morton or Trestle Creek, Idaho, Sharon McInturff of Sandpoint and Jean Morton of Libby; a brother, Gerald Bricker of Montana; four grandchildren, three stepgranddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

Ruby Totusek Marlin, Wash.
Graveside service for Ruby L. Totusek, 96, will be at 10 a.m. today at the Bohemian Cemetery in Odessa, Wash. Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Marlin Presbyterian Church. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Totusek, who was born in Marlin, died Monday.
She married Frank Totusek in 1932.
Mrs. Totusek was a homemaker and a member of the Marlin Presbyterian Church.
Her husband died in 1963.
She is survived by two sons, Loren and Virgil Totusek, both of Marlin.

Shirley Libsack Odessa, Wash.
Funeral for Shirley R. Libsack, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Heritage Church in Odessa. Burial will follow at the Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Libsack, who was born in Bellingham, died Monday.
She graduated from Ephrata (Wash.) High School in 1948 and moved to Odessa in 1956.
Mrs. Libsack was a homemaker and a former Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Heritage Church in Odessa, the Odessa Hospital Auxiliary and the American Historical Society of Germans in Russia.
Survivors include her husband, Laurence; a son, Jay Libsack, and a daughter, Lecia Fink, both of Odessa; a brother, Dwight Affleck of Pasco; three sisters, DeLecia Baker of Bremerton, Bernice Guddall of Arizona and Jeanne Bean of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Ruthanne Schmid Spokane
Funeral Mass for Ruthanne Schmid, 71, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Burial is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Ephrata, Wash. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 30-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Schmid died Sunday. She was born in Wenatchee.
Mrs. Schmid was a homemaker and a longtime volunteer with the Spokane Center for Peace and a 25-year volunteer secretary for the St. Thomas More Catholic School.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Vince; a son, Dan Schmid of Everett; four daughters, Kathleen Buckmaster and Mary Heavey, both of Spokane, Pat Lorenzi of Maple Valley, Wash., and Teresa Barker of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers and 13 grandchildren.

Nannie (Engle) Olson Greenacres
Funeral for Nannie B. (Engle) Olson, 99, will be at 10 a.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
Mrs. Olson, who was born in Corbin, Ky., died Sunday.
She moved to Greenacres from Tekoa, Wash., in 1944.
Mrs. Olson was a homemaker.
Her first husband, Shanklin Engle, died in 1965. Her second husband, Whitney Olson, died in 1974.
Survivors include six daughters, Pearl Hubbell, Wilma Wiemer, Evelyn Engle, Erma Taylor and Marguerite Easley, all of Spokane, and Janice Goodwin of Colorado Springs; four sons, Jack Engle of Spokane, Ray Engle of Omak, Wash., Don Engle of Greenacres and Bob Engle of Helena; 36 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Wayne Rogers Spokane
Funeral for Wayne L. Rogers, 83, will be at 1 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
Mr. Rogers, who was born in Hartline, Wash., died Tuesday.
He graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah, Wash., and in 1938 married Jacqueline Kieling.
Mr. Rogers served with the Army during World War II and later began his career in the banking industry.
He became manager of the Kennewick Branch of Seattle First National Bank in 1963, serving until 1973.
During that time Mr. Rogers served as president of the chamber of commerce in Kennewick, was a port commissioner and was a member of the Nuclear Council.
After his retirement in 1973, he moved to Spokane.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Hill; a son, David Rogers; and two grandchildren.
Beulah Nyhart Newport, Wash.
Service for Beulah Lee Nyhart, 95, will be held Saturday in Atchison, Kan. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Nyhart, who was born in Petersburg, Ky., died Monday.
Mrs. Nyhart was a teacher for several years and was active with the Order of Eastern Star and Youth for Christ, and was a member of the Sunday Central Christian and First Baptist Church, all in Kansas.
She moved to Priest River, Idaho, in 1985 before moving to Newport in 1995.
Her husband William, died in 1991.
Survivors include two daughters, Beulah Froman of Las Vegas and Blanche Weber of Del-Rio, Texas; a sister, Blanche Yaple of Blue Springs, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Rev. John Greer Spokane
Funeral for the Rev. John B. Greer, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Driscoll Boulevard Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. Greer, who was born in Shell Creek, Tenn., died Monday.
He grew up in Butler, Tenn., and later attended the Golden Gate Seminary in Berkeley, Calif.
In 1939 he moved to the Kelso, Wash., area and married Minnie Reese.
The Rev. Greer pastored Baptist churches in Kelso and Longview, Wash., Kellogg, and Terrace Heights, near Yakima, before moving to Spokane in the early 1960s. He retired in 1977.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Minnie; and four grandchildren.
Linda Reinbolt Spokane
No service will be held for Linda L. Reinbolt. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mrs. Reinbolt died Friday. She was 51.
She graduated from Rogers High School and attended college for two years.
Mrs. Reinbolt was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Pierce, a son, Rick Reinbolt, and two sisters, Jean Moe and Grace Garvin, all of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
Margaret Gordon Yuma, Ariz.
Memorial service for Margaret Etta Marie Gordon, 70, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 57th and Freya. Sunset Vista in Yuma is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mrs. Gordon died Friday. She was born in Akley, Minn.
She married John Gordon Sr. in 1945 and spent her winters in Yuma.
Survivors include her husband; a son, John Gordon Jr. of Otis Orchards; three daughters, Debbie Little of Spokane, Linda Wagner of Rockford and Margie Sentman of Milwaukie, Ore.; four brothers, Ed Erickson, Duane, Dick and Jeff Lind; two sisters, Grace Rutledge and Ruth Sims, all of the Seattle area; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Agnes (Anderson) Thomas Lincoln City, Ore.
Memorial service for Agnes Catherine (Anderson) Thomas, 96, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lincoln City Assembly of God Church. Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City is in charge of arrangements.
A longtime Spokane resident, Mrs. Thomas died Friday. She was born in Spokane.
Mrs. Thomas married William Thomas in 1940 and was a homemaker and a member of the White Shrine in Spokane for many years.
She moved to Lincoln City several years ago.
Survivors include a daughter, Merry Ann Blanchard of Lincoln City; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
