Joan `Joanie’ DeMasters Big Timber, Mont.
Funeral Mass for Joan Ellen “Joanie” DeMasters, 52, will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
Mrs. DeMasters, who was born in Kellogg, died Wednesday.
She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1964 and continued to live in the Silver Valley until moving to Republic, Wash., in the early 1980s.
Mrs. DeMasters moved to Spearfish, S.D., in 1996 and then moved to Big Timber.
She was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Claude “Vic” ; two daughters, Annette and Melissa DeMasters, both of Big Timber; five sons, Jeremy DeMasters of New Hampshire, and David, Daniel, Brendan and Joseph DeMasters, all of Big Timber; a half-brother, Gerald Davis of Kamiah, Idaho; four sisters, Marie Rush of Osburn, Idaho, Celie Hunter and Rita Kurkowski, both of Kellogg, and Francie Sanders of Montana; five brothers, Bob and Terry Davis, both of Kellogg, Dan Davis of Absarokee, Mont., Ray Davis of Tacoma, Wash., and Joe Davis of Seattle; and two grandchildren.
Lola Adolfson Greenacres
Graveside service for Lola Ruth Adolfson, 91, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 75-year Spokane-area resident, Mrs. Adolfson died March 8. She was born in St. Louis.
Mrs. Adolfson was a homemaker and a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Donald Adolfson; a sister, Betty Mohaupt; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Edward Carter Spokane
Visitation for Edward T. Carter, 66, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Carter died March 10.
He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and served in the Army from 1953 until 1955.
He later worked as a long-haul truck driver for Pierone Produce, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Peggy Jean; two sons, Kevin Carter of Spokane and Dennis Carter of Oregon; two daughters, Vicki Paulk of Spokane and Lori Musgrave, both of Pinedale, Wyo.; and eight grandchildren.
Edith Myers Pullman
Graveside service for Edith Louise Myers, 83, will be at 2 p.m. today at Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse, Wash. Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Myers, who was born in Genesee, Idaho, died Wednesday.
She grew up on the family farm in the Genesee and Johnson, Idaho, area.
In 1936 she married Morris Myers. They lived in Moscow, Idaho, until 1951, when they moved to the Palouse area. In 1963 they moved to Pullman.
Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church. She also worked as the manager at the Kenwood Square Retirement Complex in Pullman for six years.
Her husband died in 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Schaff of Pullman; a son, Steve Myers of Portland; two brothers, Ray and Donald Wernecke, both of Moscow; two sisters, Gladys Wernecke of Spokane and Joyce Pederson of Moscow; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Elmer Johnson Tekoa, Wash.
Graveside service for Elmer B. Johnson, 90, will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa. Memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tensed (Idaho) Community Church. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.
He moved with his family to the Tensed area, where he attended schools.
He served as an airplane engine mechanic in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was discharged in 1945 as a private first class.
Mr. Johnson lived in Spokane until 1949, when he moved to Los Angeles to work for Lockheed Aircraft Corp.
While living in California he attended evening high school to obtain his high school diploma and attended West Coast University and American Technical Institute, receiving his diploma as a machine tool operator and automotive tune-up specialist.
Mr. Johnson had attended the Mohler Barber College in Spokane and worked as a barber in Los Angeles for 17 years, before retiring in 1975.
After his retirement he returned to Spokane.
In 1982 he moved to the Tekoa Retirement Apartments.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Tensed Community Church, Tensed Senior Center and the American Legion Post 0110 in Lacey, Wash. Survivors include three cousins, Myron Johnson and Helen Weis, both of Tekoa, and Stanley Johnson of Spokane.
